When you first move to Linux from Windows the first thing you realise is how much you depended on Microsoft products, in my case their office suite. Moving to Linux I had to find out the best software for me and my studies and this is what I will be using coming into my second semester.
WPS Office Suite Free
Linux Mint comes with Libre Office off the bat, but I don’t like the GUI as it feels like it’s from Windows 95 and i’m a picky person, which led me to WPS.
WPS has a very close look to Microsoft Office and its interface is pretty much the same so that was its selling point for me.
When it came to an email client to use I have one and only one in mind, and that it Thunder Bird by Mozilla. Who’s Mozilla you ask? They are the creators of Firefox and theyare known for their protection against tracking your online presence, and that’s why I go for them, and their interface is super simple!
Terminal Command for Thunder Bird | sudo apt install thunderbird
